American Heroism and Political Dissimulation

Claiming to ‘seek truth’ beneath an umbrella of invention bleeds political ambition into treasonous foolery.  Madame Liar, Nancy Pelosi is walking this minefield, risking national security to besmirch American protectors.

Retired General Tommy Franks was asked to listen to and comment on shill comedian Jon Stewart’s assertion that former President Truman is a war criminal for using the atomic bomb on Japan in 1945.  Franks noted that Americans celebrated, not debated, the decision of Truman after World War II ended.  Real American heroes are lost in translation for Stewart.

Obama’s speech at the National Archives, replete with customary arrogance and narcissism, neither noted successful policies which kept America safe for seven-plus years nor acknowledged the growing partnership he's forged with those same Bush policies.  Not only did the ‘Celebrity President’ fail to adequately illustrate a plan for Gitmo detainees, he neglected to breathe a word on that mornings' apprehension of terror suspect slimeballs who were planning to bomb Jewish Synagogues and a National Guard air base in New York.  That is a gaping disconnect for the POTUS in a speech designed to address national security policy.

How could Obama have the audacity of silence to not mention the successful bust in New York in the big speech he hoped would usurp Cheney’s planned talk to recount his own administration's response to the horror of 9/11?   Obama’s dilemma is clear.  That snag was the result of a working investigation carried out from the Bush administration.  Mentioning that would not juxtapose well alongside his 28 scornful and condemning references blaming Bush fashioned to prick the ears of fringe loyalists.

As harsh realities of Presidential responsibility dawn fresh each new morning, it becomes harder and harder for Obama to reconcile his policy choices between protecting the people of the United States and mollifying the disruptive agenda of the far left.  Increasingly unable to make decisions to appease eccentrics, Obama does the next best thing, he reminds them loud and often how Bush was the bad guy.  The verbal meat toss intended to feed the haters enough protein-laced bravado to foster celebratory backslapping on how Obama really hammered Bush again, emulating teammates reliving past heroics of big game victories.  Yeah-babeee.

A meticulously researched expose ‘The Gitmo Myth and the Torture Canard’ authored by Arthur Herman last week is rich in detail and neatly undresses and deconstructs the carefully crafted LIBERAL CON JOB intentionally perpetrated on the American public to imbue a false mindset about Gitmo and 'torture' for political gains.  This intricate weave of slander and manipulation by radicals fostered a maladaptive public outlook on American detention policy that is startling.  Wordy attacks on the Bush administration, illusions woven together by the aggressors and spread by media cheerleaders achieved political gain.

Partisan chicanery is not new and has always been centric to the political landscape.  The con-job of misrepresentations helped sway minds and achieved the goal of electing Obama.  But now political operatives and shadowy backers call themselves ‘truth-seekers’.  Their well-crafted myth now shielded under an idolatry of the new Emperor’s platitudes of self-righteousness and high morality.  These miscreants are not driven to advance the country, but in furthering political vendetta under cover of a magician’s claim of moral distinction.

Political gains were achieved…. this is something else.  Instead of respecting, even honoring difficult decisions made by Bush/Cheney to stand up for America and protect lives, the left excoriates them.  Obama has a big problem if he continues fronting this sham.  Does he keep placating liberals and protect their disruptive mission, one which is already backfiring on Pelosi?  There is little upside for Obama to remain as emcee for this circus.  Such slender assertions are apt to fail the scrutiny of a public’s growing attention to the balance between safety and security versus an arbitrary demarcation line drawn within the grey zone of interrogation methods.  Cheney has single-handedly raised awareness and his credibility is finding quick favor with the American people.

Ethical problems germinate when the Pelosi’s who perpetrate falsehoods actually start to believe them.  This is the black hole where she, Patrick Leahy and all anti-Bush demagogues now find themselves.  Winning the White House and majorities in the Senate and Congress wasn’t enough?  That’s where it should have stopped.  Drunk with power they are not satisfied so they pursue an unwise agenda pressing the prior administration using charged phrases as ‘war crimes’, a reverse-euphemism for 'kept America safe'.  But there are no war crimes.  The only crimes committed are the ones by Pelosi, Leahy and their partners.  They cross lines of ethics and morality once they adopt as true, their falsified versions of history to selfishly grind an axe at the expense of American security.  Hardheaded extremists and the nescient will stand behind falsehoods until truth visibly bleeds into their own ethical and moral standards.  For the majority of Americans it won’t take long.  The process is already evolving.

Last week, House Democrats blocked a Republican attempt to force a vote to authorize a bipartisan investigation of Pelosi’s charge that the CIA has been lying to Congress about interrogation methods.  The web of lies by the so-called truth-seekers don’t just disappear with a partisan blockade.  Truth will win out.

Contrary to factual deceptions by the Pelosi crowd, the Bush administration bent over backwards on every occasion to carefully respect lines of morality and make certain Gitmo interrogations fell within legal opinion.  Extracting from the Herman article:

As Captain Kyndra Miller Rotunda, a JAG lawyer who served at Gitmo from August 2002 to March 2003, explained, in terms of accommodation to religious belief and case review boards, Gitmo actually exceeds Geneva Convention rules.  At the end of Ramadan in 2002, the staff actually considered sacrificing a goat for the detainees, but decided not to for fear of earning the wrath of animal-rights groups.

It is remarkable and astounding that operatives at Gitmo had internal debate about the moral equivalency of sacrificing a goat to accommodate the religious values of terrorist detainees versus the outrage they might incur from testy animal rights groups.  Managing morality to the nth degree is honored and respected in the United States of America, not repudiated.

To argue Gitmo is a carrot for terrorist group recruitment is a red-herring, a lark, an absurd creation of Liberal Hubris.  Since 1948, terror groups have had all the recruitment incentive ever needed: the existence of Israel.  Fundamentalist preaching of hate and terror delves further into history.  Successful democracies and the existence of Jews fuel recruitment, Gitmo is inconsequential.  The ‘recruitment’ quarrel elevates to code-red hypocrisy when a real instrument empowering terror recruitment is transferred directly from the President of the United States in the form of classified documents; a ghastly decision.

Obsessions of Pelosi, Leahy, Soros and their cohorts can be indiscriminately blind to the point of criminality.  Their proddings prompted Obama’s decision to release internal CIA memos that started dominoes tumbling.  Nancy Pelosi wasn’t smart enough to realize her place in the domino sequence.  The punishment for treason is death.  If the cycle of blame passes onward to the next administration it is odds-on for Pelosi, Leahy and others to face charges, especially if it proves out that releasing CIA memos aided in terrorist recruitment.  That’s not a prediction, just forward-looking four years.

In the ultimate cage-match battle of speeches Cheney cornered, then disarmed Obama opening cuts in his hollow jargon.  Tony Harnden, the US editor of the UK Telegraph offers a blow by blow ringside analysis Howard Cosell style.  In his article The 10 Punches Dick Cheney Landed on Barack Obama’s Jaw, his tenth and final round evaluation went this way:

10. "To the very end of our administration, we kept al-Qaeda terrorists busy with other problems. We focused on getting their secrets instead of sharing ours with them. And on our watch, they never hit this country again. After the most lethal and devastating terrorist attack ever, 7- 1/2 years without a repeat is not a record to be rebuked and scorned, much less criminalized."

It's indisputably an achievement of the Bush administration that it prevented the US from being attacked after 9/11. By ramming this point home, Cheney tees things up for some very tough questioning of Obama in the event that the US is attacked again.

This weekend former assistant director of the FBI, Steven Pomerantz remarked, “For 20 years, the United States never responded adequately to the terror attacks that led up to 9/11”.  Only when Bush and Cheney finally took a stand on behalf of the American people to check-back the terror networks did the tide turn.  Without fear of retribution our enemies grew confidently braver.  Each and every attack was bolder until they carried out the most dastardly assault imaginable, succeeding to destroy the World Trade Center, killing 3000 innocent people and emaciating a structure of major commerce and an American symbol of capitalism and democracy.  Somebody eventually would have to make the tough decisions, and finally, Bush and Cheney heroically did.

Perhaps Clinton didn’t possess the courage or willpower to tackle the challenge of keeping America safe.  Perhaps he was too distracted by manly desires to take advantage of key intelligence that isolated Osama bin Laden.  If Clinton had made the tough decisions instead of passing them along for Bush and Cheney to deal with, 9/11 might have been avoided altogether.

Obama had it right when he campaigned on looking forward.  Too bad he hasn’t committed to that promise.  Compared to the problematic logistics which compromise his poorly planned-out pledge to close Gitmo, it would have been an easy promise to deliver.  We keep looking backwards.

So according to Jon Stewart, Truman is a war criminal, even though he shortened a war and saved millions of lives.  And according to Liar of the House, Madame Liar Nancy Pelosi, Bush is a war criminal for keeping America safe after 9/11.  Then accordingly, the most heinous of war criminals must be Bill Clinton, under whose Presidency the al-Qaeda build-up went unchecked and the planning for 9/11 was carried out.  Isn’t doing zilch to protect the country the biggest crime of all?
